National News: A flight from Indigo Airlines, which flew from Nagpur to Kolkata, had to return to Nagpur on Monday morning. The reason was the phenomenon of colliding with a bird, which is called "bird hit" in the language of the aviation field. After the incident, the aircraft made a safe landing, and all the passengers were completely safe.
According to sources, this Indigo flight went through a sudden shock shortly after flying from Nagpur Airport. The passengers suddenly heard a loud voice and felt a slight change in the speed of the aircraft. At the same moment, the pilot immediately contacted the control tower and shared the emergency information.
The pilot decided to return to Nagpur in view of the safety of the passengers. Air traffic control immediately activated the emergency plan. The firefighters and security teams were already on the runway. After nearly half an hour of attempts, the aircraft made a safe landing at Nagpur Airport. During this time the passengers felt deep relief and praised the pilot's quick understanding.
The aircraft left with about 180 passengers. Some travelers said that the sudden voice and flight direction created fear in everyone's mind. However, the crew members continued to assure the passengers that the situation was under control. The passengers said that the calm behavior of the pilot and the staff helped them to maintain restraint.
Indigo Airlines confirmed the incident, saying that the safety of the passenger and the crew is always the priority of the company. The pilot took time in time under the rules, and the aircraft was brought back safely. The airline also said that arrangements are being made to send passengers to their destination soon.
The aircraft is currently sent to the hangar for technical examination. The DGCA has also ordered an inquiry into the matter. Officials say it will be ascertained how much damage was done to the engine and what steps can be taken to protect against such incidents in the future.
According to experts, bird strikes are a constantly growing problem at Indian airports. Open grounds, garbage sites, and reservoirs spread around the airport increase the number of birds. This is why aircraft struggle with this risk during takeoff and landing.
Even though this incident has not changed into a major accident, it has once again raised serious questions about air security. Fortunately, this time all passengers and crew could return home safely.
